Dominik Hammerstein - Certified Criminal Defence Lawyer

Dominik Hammerstein was born in Freiburg on 3 March 1962. In 1980 he graduated from the Friedrich-Gymnsium of Freiburg, a secondary educational institution with an emphasis on classics. After studies of Law and Philosophy in Munich and Cologne he completed his probationary period at the Freiburg District Court.

From the very beginning of his professional career Dominik Hammerstein was particularly interested in counselling clients in the areas of criminal and commercial law. In February 1999 the Freiburg Chamber of Lawyers granted him the title of a Criminal Defence Lawyer.

Hammerstein's counselling activity focuses on criminal law. As a Certified Criminal Defence Lawyer, he was involved mainly in matters of capital crime and commercial criminal law. During many years of work for nation-wide law firms he gained a wide scope of experience in defending clients charged with offences against the Narcotic Drug Law.

In 2013 the news magazine FOCUS has honored lawyer Hammerstein as a top lawyer for Criminal Law in Germany (FOCUS SPEZIAL - Deutschlands Top-Anwälte - Oktober/November 2014).

Dominik Hammerstein is a member of the Freiburger Anwaltvereins(Freiburg Lawyers Union), the Arbeitsgemeinschaft Strafrecht des deutschen Anwaltvereins(German Lawyers Union Association for the Study of Criminal Law), and the Vereinigung Baden-Württembergische Strafverteidiger e.V.(Baden-Wuerttemberg Union of Criminal Defence Lawyers).

Dominik Hammerstein is a member of the Freiburger Anwaltvereins (Freiburg Lawyers Union), the Arbeitsgemeinschaft Strafrecht des deutschen Anwaltvereins(German Lawyers Union Association for the Study of Criminal Law), and the Vereinigung Baden-Württembergische Strafverteidiger e.V.(Baden-Wuerttemberg Union of Criminal Defence Lawyers).

In addition, he is a board member of the Association for the Study of Criminal Law of the Freiburg Lawyers Union.
